The USSD Protocol

                 The USSD Protocol

Did you know that the USSD protocol gives you access to hidden features on your smartphone's dialer  that you probably didn't know?
Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD)—sometimes known as "quick codes" or "feature codes"—is an extra-UI protocol, which allows people to access hidden features.
Give thanks to the internet, did what it does best and these secret codes became public knowledge that can be accessed and used by anyone that sets their mind on it.
This protocol was originally created for GSM phones
Back doors(secret pathways planted by programmers) Well? That's actually a thing. Coders have a storied tradition of baking in secret passageways ( i.e back doors) that can only be accessed by inputting a special "key." And so that tradition continues in the mobile age.

These publicly available backchannels allow users to directly communicate with their service provider's computers and/or access back-end features in their device. They are accessed by inputting them into the phone's dialer (the screen you use to start a phone call) and usually begin and end with the * or # keys with a sequence of numbers in between (there's close-to-zero chance that anyone would accidentally access them.)
These are the numeric/symbolic sequences which allow you to access system settings:-

If you are unsure about any codes better not to execute it. Most of the codes are meant for only advanced users. So if you would like to try it, better you keep a backup copy of your data on the handset! we are not responsible for any of the data loss or damage to your device by using the codes.
